I have spent my career in business, owning and running a successful service industry business for 30 years and latterly becoming Chairman of a Group of similar companies supplying mainly the Hotel and Private Health Sectors. This was a highly rewarding and exciting career, a career that allowed me to meet some amazing people and create some very good friendships.
An opportunity to take early retirement arose and I decided to take it, a decision that I haven't regretted.
Following retirement, my wife Elizabeth and I decided to move to South Western France. We loved the lifestyle and bought a beautiful house with many outbuildings from which we ran a very successful Chambres D'Hote business. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there but Covid struck and life became difficult with regards to seeing family and friends so we made the decision to return to the UK. It was then that I started to think about becoming a Celebrant as I have had considerable experience writing and presenting speeches and eulogies throughout my life.
I am told that my calm voice and personal approach as a celebrant in Nottinghamshire gives people confidence enabling them to relax and enjoy the occasion, an occasion that can sometimes prove to be somewhat stressful.
I have led a very active life, for many years I was a Rally driver competing at the highest level on the Network Q rallies in the 90s in my Ford Escort Cosworth, unfortunately as various posts on YouTube will confirm, my ambition exceeded my talent and I spent rather more time in hospital than is healthy! After this I learnt to fly, gaining my private pilot's licence followed by many years of flying around the UK and seeing some amazing views.

Maybe religion plays little or no part in your daily life: with a Celebrant you can show and feel your own spirituality. Celebrants can conduct wedding ceremonies in a venue of the couples choosing. Ceremonies can be held in licenced or unlicensed premises, woodlands, mountain tops, hotels, family gardens. In fact there is no limit!
A hotel may have a licence for one room on the premises that they can perform weddings in, but if there is a wonderful garden or a fantastic lake outside, a professional celebrant can conduct the ceremony anywhere on the premises!
